Cabot Animal Shelter hosts Yappy Yard Sale

Cabot Animal Shelter hosts Yappy Yard Sale

From THViewer Brandy, posted to the THV 11 Facebook page:

Don't forget about the Cabot Animal Shelter's First Annual Yappy Yard Sale this Saturday, April 13, and our Spring Open House!

We will have a bounce house, face painting, a ladder truck, etc for the kids. There will also be hamburgers, hot dogs, shelter tours, adoptions, etc for the adults. A very family friendly event that you don't want to miss!! All proceeds from our yard sale will be used to purchase elevated beds for our shelter animals. Yard Sale items will be on a "reasonable donation" basis.

Please be generous with your giving. The homeless animals of Cabot are counting on you!

Joey the Garden Cat: A TV Sensation

Joey the Garden Cat: A TV Sensation

Doris James is a freelance writer and former broadcaster from Arkansas, and a big fan of Joey the Garden Cat. You can follow her online as MizBejabbers.

During an evening newscast at a local television station, a slender gray striped cat hops upon the news desk. Anchor Liz Massey smiles and says, “Oh, here’s Joey.” The cat sits on the desk and gives the camera a green-eyed stare as Liz and fellow-anchor Craig O’Neil carry on with the newscast. The privileged feline is Joey the Garden cat who is a staff member of KTHV, the CBS affiliate in Little Rock, Arkansas. Joey has become a big TV celebrity in Arkansas and his fame is spreading nationally.

One of the brightest moments of my professional life at Today's THV was when Joey The Garden Cat found his way into the Weather Garden.  It didn't take long to recognize he was a show stealer with his adorable antics, photogenic features and commanding attitude.

The introduction of Facebook helped launch his popularity…not only in Arkansas but all over the world.  And then when Animal Planet featured him in a segment of "Must Love Cats" -- well, Joey's appeal became electric and his fans demanded more.

So, as his primary caretaker I took on the role of Momma/Agent and what a treat it is to hear from and interact with his fans.
